The limited edition Tamaris GREENSTEP mule collection combines innovative sustainability features with fashionable appeal and a light and airy feel. This sustainable and versatile fashion shoe is exclusively available from our online store. In the manufacturing process, we deliberately avoid animal materials and focus on natural ingredients. Tamaris continuously works towards the goal of leaving as green a 'shoeprint' in our world as possible. And with significant success: the pilot project "Made with Mushrooms" received the "German Award for Sustainability Projects 2022". Our sustainable mules based on mushrooms achieved first place in the "Product - Textiles/ Clothing" category. We are passionate about this project because it proves that it is possible for shoe production to use more and more materials with an organic basis.

From nature – with the innovative HyphaLite™ technology, we are able to produce a shoe upper made from sustainable and natural ingredients. Mushrooms form the basis of the production process and are mixed with natural rubber and structural components. The next step is to apply the mixture to a cellulose fabric. The finished material is used to make the shoe.

Made with BLOOM™

We use biomass in the production of outsoles. BLOOM™ is an algae technology that counteracts the uncontrollable, global spread of algae in our waters. In the production process, a significant amount of algae biomass and bio-based additives are processed to create a flexible resin. With the addition of BLOOM™, we are able to provide more environmentally friendly plastics for the sustainable production of outsoles, while reducing the need for fossil fuel materials such as petroleum.

100% vegan

Our vegan shoes are highly fashionable, and the deliberate avoidance of animal materials is very much in tune with current preferences. We ensure that our shoes are vegan by having them tested for animal ingredients by the testing and research institute PFI Germany, after which they can be certified. This certification is also found on the shoe itself.
